What is important to you when you set up?
Janie's Golden Rule No. 1: always have fresh flowers in the living room. They are the glamour of everyday life and bring a lot of variety and expression to the furnishing style. I constantly clean them from A to B, reassemble bouquets and like exotic flowers. The dear Sissi v. Hardenberg with your online flower shop bloomydays is always a great alternative, if you don't make it to the city for flower power shopping.
Janie's Golden Rule No. 2: All decorative objects have to follow clear lines with me, in the sense of forming, i.e. with a concept behind it, albeit "colourful". Concretely: In our apartment there is nothing like that. I always think of patterns in which I arrange or group the objects, often as a duo or triad. But I don't like it at all. (Small anecdote: Our cleaning lady always puts everything obliquely after the dust swipe, since I always put everything "straight" again in the evening) Especially with a colour- and pattern-intensive device, this ensures the necessary order for the eye.

Setting up has one thing above all: fun. For me, it is difficult to spend a lot of time at home on weekdays due to my job. Saturday morning, however, "Interior-Time" is announced. After a little house cleaning I get creative and love to use this free time to decorate and to devise new interior projects, to buy and to paint fresh flowers. My tip: Use Islands of Calm to deal with the furnishing style and don't try to force anything in combination with templates (e.g. interior magazines) and stress. Sometimes consult a good friend or even organize DIY evenings – the Westwing magazine provides good impulses. The mixture ultimately makes it, you have to feel comfortable in your four walls, the "Sweethome".
